External Examiner urgently required for Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences

University of the West of England, Bristol, Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences, is seeking to appoint a second external examiner to the following programmes.

Reference FD01 / 18 Foundation degree Nursing Associate to include collaborative provision

UWE has been successful as a second and third wave delivery of the Nursing Associate Foundation degree, and we are looking for a second external examiner for this programme due to an expansion in cohort numbers. Experience as an external examiner is preferred but applications will be accepted from individuals new to the examining role.

Essential criteria

  • Experience of collaborative working and assessment with partner colleges
  • Experience of delivery and organisation of a Nursing Associate programme in own institution
  • NMC registration Part 1

Desirable criteria

  • Current NMC Registration; Adult is preferred
  • Good knowledge of the Nursing Associate role and curriculum

All appointments are subject to meeting the University’s criteria for the appointment of external examiners including Right To Work checks.

We are unable to accept applications from the following Universities for this post, St Georges and Kingston University

Venue for delivery: Bristol, Somerset.

Field (exam / module) Boards – currently February, May, June, July and November although these are subject to change. We expect External Examiners would be able to attend at least 2 out of the 5 of these.

Award boards: The external examiner will have shared oversight for this award and is expected to attend at least 1 award board each year. These run in February, May, June, July, and November although these are subject to change.
