The University of Bedfordshire, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint an external examiner to the BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy course.

This is a brand new programme which has been developed with inter-professional working at its heart with students studying alongside their Occupational Therapy colleagues. The curriculum has been developed within a biopsychosocial framework following a social constructive learning model. Students have opportunities to develop a critical approach to their knowledge, skills and clinical practice along a spiral approach to learning. Alongside inter-professional learning, evidence based learning and reflective practice are fundamental aspects of the course.

This is a 3 year full-time programme that runs yearly with 15-20 students.

We are keen to recruit someone who has experience of delivering a Pre-registration Physiotherapy course. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure.

You will be asked to attend approximately 3 academic boards per year. You will also be invited to observe practical assessments and visit students within practice areas. The specific remit includes review of units at academic levels 4, 5 and 6 contributing to the above award.

The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2019.

Please note that all External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University’s External Examiner Committee.
For expressions of interest please send a current CV by 21st February.
