External Examiner to the PgDip Mental Health Nursing Programme at Middlesex University

Middlesex University is seeking to appoint an external examiner to the PgDip Mental Health Nursing programme: It is a 2 year taught programme (with an initial year accredited by APL). It consists of 4 academic modules and 2 practice modules. There are approx. 40 students in each year.

Role Specification: The external examiner is asked to look at a sample of the assessments and report on: Academic processes (including the standards and consistency of internal marking; student performance, the programme administration and Academic standards), as well as the regulations and processes of the University (whether the programme standards are appropriate and to note examples of good practice). In addition to module feedback, you would be asked to attend at least one examination board per year and submit an annual report following this.

Essential Criteria: Experience of delivering post-registration mental health programmes at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and current NMC registration Mental Health field.

Desirable Criteria: Previous experience as an external examiner preferred but not essential.
