Expressions of Interest are sought for External Examiners based within the Department of Adult Nursing and Paramedic Science within the Faculty of Education and Health.
The Specialist Practitioner District Nursing programmes are designed to facilitate the development of professional knowledge and skills which will enable students completing the programme to holistically care for patients, their families and carers in the community setting. Currently the programmes are comprised of 6 core courses and can be completed as either a 1 year full time or 2 years part time programme. Within the programmes students benefit from shared learning with the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting and School Nursing) programme students and students are assessed in both practice and academically via a range of assessment strategies which are designed to meet the NMC standards of proficiency for specialist community nursing (district nursing).
The BSc (Hons) Professional Practice programme is a flexible top up degree for registered practitioners who need to achieve a degree level qualification and the Associate programme is a programme where students attend courses as standalone entities to gain academic credit which can then be utilised within BSc or MSc programmes.
The successful applicant must hold current registration with the NMC as a nurse and have a District Nursing qualification.
The tenure is over a four year period commencing September 2016.
Role Requirements: examine assessments and student work ensuring parity of provision by reviewing the standard of assessments, the fitness for purpose of quality processes relating to the assessments and the level of achievement our students’ attain.
