University of the West of England, Bristol, Department of Health and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic to act as external examiner for the BSc (Hons) Public Health: Specialist Community Public Health Nursing and Post Graduate Diploma Public Health: Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Programmes.

UWE is the sole provider of SCPHN training for the south west region and is therefore delivered in two locations, Bristol and Plymouth. The programme is taught both full time over one year or part-time over two years and includes three fields of practice, Health Visiting, School Nursing and Occupational Health Nursing.

The following modules are expected to be part of the examiners portfolio:

Public Health and Health Promotion
Principles of Evidence Based Public Health
Professional Perspectives in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN)
Leadership and Enterprise
V100 Prescribing Practice
Promoting the Health of School-aged Children in the Community
Workplace Health and Wellbeing

Essential Criteria
Current SCPHN NMC registration (3rd part of NMC Register)

All appointments are subject to meeting the University’s criteria for the appointment of external examiners.

We are unable to accept applications from City University, Nottingham Trent University, University of Derby, University of Nottingham, Plymouth University or Sheffield Hallam University for this post.

Tenure: 4 years
Field Boards February, June, and August (required).
