Sheffield Hallam University – Faculty of Health and Wellbeing
The Faculty of Health and Wellbeing is seeking to appoint an external examiner to its pre-Registration Nursing provision. Previous experience of pre-Registration nurse education and of external examining is preferred. The appointments will commence September 2015 and the tenure is expected to be four years.
The Programmes are as follows:
BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult)
BSc (Hons) Nursing (Child)
As one of the largest providers of nurse education in the country we aim to deliver consistent high quality in both theory and practice resulting in an excellent experience for the students as well as creating nurses who are able to function in the ever changing arena of health and social care.
The appointee will form part of an external examining team and will be required to moderate a sample of scripts in relation to modules within the above programmes. You will also be required to produce an annual report, visit practice annually and attend Assessment Award Boards as appropriate.
You will be invited to attend a one day University External Examiners Induction session in 2015
All External Examiners for programmes leading to registration or recordable qualifications with the Nursing and Midwifery Council will be expected to maintain their registration to the NMC professional register for the duration of their External Examiner contract.
