The School of Health and Social Care is the largest school in London South Bank University with a long-standing reputation for excellence in the education, research and practice development of a variety of health and social care specialists. The Department of Adult Nursing and Midwifery works in partnership with leading NHS Trusts in the Capital and the South East.
The Department is now seeking to appoint an external examiner for our pre-registration adult nursing course.
The University operates a two-tier examination board system, with external examiners being initially appointed to a Subject Area Board where they will oversee a number of academic modules. More experienced external examiners may subsequently be appointed to an Award and Progression Examination Board. The Examination Board meets three times a year and there is an expectation that the external examiner will attend at least one Examination Board and submit an annual report to the University.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff who are registered adult nurses and hold a minimum of a master’s degree with experience in teaching on pre-registration nursing courses.
All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment (UK Quality Code for HE; Chapter 7 External Examining; Indicator 5.
