External Examiner – Post-registration (mental health)

Opening Date:
18 Aug 2014
Closing Date:
12 Sep 2014
Salary Range:

To commence from 01.12.14 for a four year tenure

We are seeking to appoint one external examiner to complement the team aligned to our post registration BSc (Hons) Health and Professional Practice Programme which is part of our Learning Beyond Registration contract.

This 60 / 120 credit programme flexibly meets the professional needs of registered nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals, who are working in a variety of different health care settings. This degree is not designed to provide the practitioners with additional registration on a Professional Register, but it does ensure that they have the opportunity to continue their professional education to degree level and develop their specialist knowledge base, which will ultimately enable them to enhance and develop practice.

If you are interested we would be particularly pleased to receive enquiries from persons with previous experience as external examiners, but those new to external examining will also be considered. Appointees would be aligned to a number of modules within their programme and be required to moderate a sample of scripts relating to each module and report on these to the module leader. Regular attendance to Assessment Boards which occur three times a year and the provision of an annual report to the University would also be expected.

If you would like to apply (or would like further information) please forward by Friday 12 September 2014 a detailed curriculum vitae that includes your contact details, qualifications, current and previous employment, research/professional activity (over last 5 years), teaching experience (over last 5 years) and current/previous external examiner positions held.
