Northumbria University, Faculty of Health & Life Sciences, currently has a vacancy for an External Examiners within the post-qualifying Continuing Workforce Development (CWD) Framework.
It would be preferred, though not essential, if the candidate had previous experience as an external examiner.
The role will involve acting as external examiner for a range of academic modules within our CWD portfolio. These modules relate to a range of physical/mental health issues and associated care, interventions and practice. Students studying modules from the CWD framework are predominately from nursing roles, as are the external examiner team you would be joining so therefore it is a requirement that the successful applicant should be a current NMC registrant.
Though all applications will be considered, we are at this time particularly interested in securing an external examiner who would be able to examine a range of modules so experience in any of the subject areas would be advantageous.:
- Infection Control
- Cognitive behavioural therapy
- Older person
In addition to academic modules within these areas, external examiners may also be called upon to examine more generic/core modules within the CWD Framework. Though predominately at degree level, there is an increasing academic provision at Master’s level across the post qualifying programmes.
