The School of Health and Community Studies is seeking to appoint an External Examiner to our CPD scheme for registered nurses, midwives and allied health professionals. In addition to standalone modules, the scheme offers the following courses: BSc (Hons)/MSc Health and Community Care (to join one other examiner for a range of modules on these awards, including NMC approved modules Support for Learning in Practice, and Practice Teacher) and MSc Advanced Clinical Practice, including Non-Medical Prescribing modules (NMC and HCPC approved). Applicants must be registered with the NMC.
No previous experience of external examining is required as the University is able to provide mentorship to the successful applicant, an online induction module and further support is also provided by the Course Director. External Examiners are expected to attend Board of Examiners meetings at least once a year and submit an annual report. The appointment commences on 1 November 2020 and tenure is for a four year period. External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University.
