Oxford Brookes University is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic, with a clinical research background, to act as an external examiner for the single Master’s level module in Planning and Managing Clinical Trials.

This module is designed for those who work in clinical trials or who wish to become involved in such work. It provides training in line with the relevant European Directives, International Conference for Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice Guideline, the applicable UK regulations and the NHS Research Governance Framework. It offers an opportunity for students to understand the principles of planning and managing clinical trials on patients and healthy volunteers, exploring and applying relevant knowledge and skills to their own working environment. The module utilises a distance learning approach and runs twice yearly.

The appointment will be for a four year term until 2018.

Whilst previous experience as an External Examiner is desirable, consideration would be given to those seeking their first appointment.
