Salary Range:

The University of Derby, College of Health, Psychology and Social Care is seeking to appoint an external examiner who holds a minimum of Fellowship of AdvanceHE and is Professionally Registered within the Health and Social Care sector for the Post Graduate Certificate in Interprofessional Practice Education programme.

This programme runs full time over one academic year or part time over two years. It adopts an integrated approach to learning which facilitates the application of theoretical learning into the workplace. Blended learning enables the students to attend university and undertake self-directed study on alternative weeks. The programme has a strong track record of developing practice educators across the multiagency Health and Social Care setting and novice academics within the HEI. It facilitates the key drivers of educating the future workforce, assessing competency, and achieving professional standards within the workplace by meeting the AdvanceHE standards.

Please contact the programme leader for more information about the modules covered in this remit.

Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure.

You will be asked to attend approximately 2 academic boards per year (these have recently been held virtually). You would also be invited to meet the students and hear their voices to gather feedback.

The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2021.

Please note that all External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University’s External Examiner Committee, and it is usual that the university will not accept colleagues who have recently left the university to work elsewhere or have been externals for the university in the past.

For expressions of interest please send a current CV by Friday 16th April 2021 to: Suzanne Le Blond, Programme Leader s.leblond@derby.ac.uk
