The School of Healthcare is seeking to appoint an external examiner to cover a number of modules currently offered within the pre-registration BSc (Hons) Nursing programme and the post registration Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care programme. The appointment requires a candidate whose area of subject expertise would enable them to be involved with the external examining process for the Graduate Certificate programme and the following undergraduate modules:

Applications are sought from healthcare professionals, who are educated to at least masters level and hold a recognised teaching qualification. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven record of accomplishment in publishing and scholarly activity.
The tenure of appointment is for a period of one year in the first instance, normally followed by a further three year period. All external examiner appointments are subject to approval by the Faculty Taught Student Education Committee.
The School uses GradeMark to mark most assignments and for these the external examiner will be required to view students’ work and markers’ comments on-line.
