The School of Health Sciences, University of Dundee is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for our Non-Medical Prescribing Module which is delivered at the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Levels 9 and 11 (QAA equivalent Levels 5 and 7). The successful applicant will also be asked to undertake some post-registration and/or postgraduate examining such as relevant dissertations.
External Examiners are also asked to undertake related activities, such as reviewing exam papers and new assessments. Depending on workload, the successful candidate may also be asked to examine other PQ modules.
The University requires that External Examiners have qualifications at least equivalent to the Programme being examined, so the successful applicant will possess a Masters Degree and should be NMC registered. A teaching qualification recorded with the NMC or Fellow of Higher Education Academy is also required. External examiners for Non-Medical Prescribing programmes are required by the NMC to possess current registration on the appropriate part of the NMC Register.
We would welcome applications from both those with and those without previous external examining experience and would be delighted to offer support and guidance to any successful candidates who are new to external examining.
All appointments will be from 1 September 2022 and will be initially for a four-year period.
