The Department of Sport, Exercise & Rehabilitation is seeking to appoint a new External Examiner for our MSc (Pre-registration) Physiotherapy programme. The programme currently recruits around 20 students annually.

We are seeking candidates whose expertise would enable them to monitor the quality of the delivery, assessment, and moderation activity within this programme, including ratification of a sample of assessed work from all modules. External examiners are asked to confirm the comparability of standards of student performance at Northumbria University with those of similar modules at other UK Institutions of Higher Education. External Examiners are invited to attend the Assessment Board and are required complete an annual report. External Examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.

Applicants must be a HCPC Registered Physiotherapist and should hold appropriate academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience of external examining although support and guidance can be provided for those new to this role. Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee on appointment.
