We are seeking a replacement external examiner from the next academic year (2017/18) for the MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) problem based learning programme. The University of Brighton offers extensive support for external examiners and holds workshops annually. Further support is also provided by the course lead and the Occupational Therapy Programme lead. The University normally expects external examiners to attend a minimum of one examination board per year.

Applicants are advised that the University applies the following criteria to external examiners:

  • The area of expertise of external examiners is within the area of examinations undertaken – the need is for expertise within occupational therapy;
  • Applicants should have recently been employed (or are still employed) within a university appointment;
  • He/she must not have been a University of Brighton examiner within the last five years;
  • He/she will have a recognised occupational therapy qualification.

One External Examiner is required for the full-time, Two year accelerated MSc Occupational Therapy (pre-registration) programme which was introduced to the University of Brighton in 1994, then re-named in 2015. An understanding of this type and level of programme would be beneficial.

This involves external examiner responsibility across a range of Year 1 and 2 modules, working alongside a current external examiner.

Commencing September 2017 for a period of 4 years.
