The University of Derby, School of Nursing and Professional Practice is seeking to appoint an external examiner to the above course. The MSc is a full-time 2 year course. Students who successfully complete the course are eligible to apply for entry to the NMC register as Registered Nurse: Mental Health.
The course contains some modules which are taken with students from the other fields of nursing. The successful candidate will therefore join a team of external examiners for the pre-registration nursing courses and will take responsibility for the MSc Mental Health field modules and a small proportion of the shared modules.
The successful candidate must be Registered Nurse: Mental Health and have experience of teaching Postgraduate pre-registration mental health nursing. The successful candidate will be asked to attend approximately 2 academic boards per academic year and meet with students/practice once a year.
Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure. The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2019.
For expressions of interest or any questions about the role, please send a current CV to Melanie Gasston-Hales Programme Leader, MSc Mental Health, firstname.lastname@example.org
