Currently, the MSc Management in Health and Social Care is delivered onsite at the Oxford Brookes Headington Campus in Oxford and overseas through blended learning in Hong Kong. There are currently around 120 students on the programme between both delivery locations. Core modules are on Leadership in Health and Social Care; Operational Management; Finance; Human Resource Management; Research Methods and a Dissertation. In Hong Kong there is a further compulsory module (Evidence-Based Practice) while in the UK students can take one optional module – typically an Independent Study or work-based learning Project.
Requirements: The external examiner should be a registered healthcare professional, should have experience of internal (and preferably external) marking and moderation of work at Masters level (level 7), and have current experience with online distance learning delivery of postgraduate courses.
External Examiners are responsible for external moderation of assessments, attend Subject Exam Boards and complete an annual monitoring report. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and the development of new modules within their area of expertise. The programme is due to be revalidated in March 2017 and the external will be invited to play an advisory role in the programme development process prior to the revalidation.
The appointment will be with effect from January 2017 and will be for a period of 4 years.
