The Faculty of Education and Health, Department of Family Care and Mental Health is seeking to appoint an experienced external examiner for our MSc Advanced Practice programme. The programme draws on the expertise from a number of departments within the faculty; it is designed to be studied part time over three to five years and aims to develop the resilience, confidence, skill and expertise of registered nurses, midwives and allied health professionals to enable them to advance professional practice in order to improve outcomes for patients/service users, their families and carers. The programme comprises seven pathways as follows: Critical and Emergency Care Practice, Healthcare Practice, Leadership and Management, Mental Health, Safeguarding Children and Young People, Sexual Health, Social Work.
In your role as external examiner you will be required to examine student work from the leadership and management pathway as well as the final year independent enquiry project. You will also ensure equity and parity of provision by reviewing the standard of assessments, the fitness for purpose of quality processes relating to the assessments and the level of achievement our students’ attain.
The successful applicant MUST be registered with either the NMC or HCPC, ideally have a doctorate or be working towards one, and have experience of teaching and leading on post-graduate courses/programmes. The tenure is over a four year period commencing June 2016.
