External Examiner – MSc Advanced Occupational Therapy (including community pathway)

The University of Derby School of Allied Health and Social Care is seeking to appoint an external Examiner for its Post Registration MSc Advanced Occupational Therapy.

This post will involve consideration of assessments related to core and optional modules of study at level 7 which are taken by Occupational Therapists on the MSc Advanced Occupational Therapy programme, as well as some modules that are shared and accessed by other Health and Social Care students.

Modules include:

  • Introduction to Masters Level Study, Management of Change, Research Methods, Evaluating Practice Outcomes, Professional and Informed Reasoning, Community Focused Occupational Therapy, Community Development through Occupation Based Practice,
  • Designing and Supporting Learning in the Workplace, Negotiated work based module.
  • The External Examiners will also be require to review dissertations.
  • The appointment is to commence from September 2020. The successful applicants will be invited to attend an induction day prior to commencement of the role.

Responsibilities include: commenting on draft assessment guidelines, reviewing samples of students’ work, attending assessment boards (up to two per year), and submitting an annual report.
