Edinburgh Napier University School of Health & Social Care seek to appoint an external examiner to a range of our core modules within the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (Named Speciality) Programme. The programme is designed to prepare nurses, midwives and/or allied health professionals (NMaHPs) for a role in advanced clinical practice. We recruit applicants from a wide variety of specialist backgrounds. The content of the programme is responsive of the changing health and social care needs of the population and is reflective of contemporary healthcare and the needs of practitioners.
The external examiner is for, but not limited to, modules related to physiology/pathophysiology, advanced health assessment, leadership and professional practice based learning. All the modules are approved at SCQF Level 11. As an External Examiner you are required to monitor the quality of the programme; externally moderate assessed work; attend examination boards; complete an annual report and comment on proposed programme modifications.
Applicants should be suitably qualified academics with relevant professional experience in the fields of health and social care and registration with either the NMC or an appropriate regulatory body. It would be desirable to have previous experience as an External Examiner, but those new to the role would be considered. We would be looking for the successful candidate to commence in January 2021.
An induction day to the School will be arranged on appointment. For informal enquiries and full details of the programme please contact Dr Alison Wood, Programme Lead firstname.lastname@example.org/ 0131 455 5660.
