External Examiner Vacancy

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Care is seeking an External Examiner for modules contributing to our Bachelor of Nursing (Mental Health Nursing) and related programmes. These programmes are based in a modern, purpose-built campus in the north of Edinburgh, close to the major road network and international airport, and with easy access to the city centre and mainline train stations. The position is available from the 2015-2016 academic session and has a 4 year tenure. The appointee will be expected to attend Edinburgh Napier University’s induction programme for External Examiners.

Our BN programme provides three year, graduate and conversion degree routes validated by the NMC to prepare students for entry to the professional register and is currently being revalidated for 2016. The BN (Mental Health Nursing) programme has a September intake and recruits approximately 65 students per year. Your subject expertise should enable you to examine a range of modules addressing therapeutic engagement and relationships in mental health practice, dementia care, access to healthcare as well as professional, moral and ethical issues around mental health nursing practice and health care, at SCQF levels 7, 8, 9 and 11.
