External Examiner – Mentorship, Practice Teacher Preparation and Learning and Teaching in HE

Birmingham City University, Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences are seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the Mentorship, Practice Teacher Preparation and PG Cert Learning and Teaching in Higher Education with NMC recordable teacher qualification modules.

The successful applicant must hold a minimum academic qualification at Masters level and must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the Supporting Learning and Assessment in Practice framework.

Professional registration within the field of healthcare would also be desirable. All coursework is submitted electronically via Moodle and marked online; External Examiners will be required to use the online moderating process. User guides and support will be made available. The External Examiner would be expected to attend a minimum of two Examination Boards per academic year, in addition to the annual programme quality event.

Previous experience is desirable but not essential. The University provides an induction for all External Examiners, mentorship will be provided for candidates new to external examination posts.

The appointment will run from September 2016 for a period of four years.
