External Examiner – Master & BSc (Hons) General Practice Nursing

The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic to act as External Examiner for the Masters and BSc (Hons) Nursing in General Practice course starting in September 2019.

This programme consists of a core general practice nurse module for both Masters and BSC route with the remaining modules optional selected by the student. (Masters students are required to undertake a research and triple dissertation module).

The successful applicant will be asked to support a number of other modules linked to the course:

  • Fundamentals of General Practice Nursing
  • Management of Same Day Consultation
  • Management of Long Term Conditions
  • Concepts of Community Practice
  • Management of Asthma and COPD

The candidate must have relevant experience of working in general practice and hold appropriate academic qualifications.

The external examiner will be excepted to attend course assessment boards, consider student work and contribute to the overall assessment process.

Programme details will be provided to the appointee and induction/training offered.

All appointments are suitable to the candidate meeting the university’s criteria for appointment.

The appointment will be with effect from September 2019 and will be foe a period of 4 years.
