External Examiner – Healthcare Leadership, Service Improvement, Clinical Governance, and Career development modules

The University of Wolverhampton requires an external examiner for our portfolio of healthcare leadership, service improvement, and career development modules and courses offered within the Department of Post-Registration Education in the Institute of Health, which offers CPD for qualified nurses, AHPs, and medical doctors. The external examiner will be expected to monitor the quality of the modular coursework across this provision with a healthcare leadership focus.

The external examiner will be expected to monitor the quality of the healthcare leadership-based assessments across the courses (and associated modules) noted below:

  • MSc Professional Practice in Healthcare
  • MSc Professional Practice in Healthcare (Leadership and Management)
  • BSc (Hons) Professional Practice in Healthcare

We are seeking candidates whose expertise in healthcare leadership and service improvement would enable them to monitor the quality of these courses and externally moderate assessed work from arising from the leadership-based modules offered in those courses. External examiners are required to attend at least one Assessment Board a year and complete an annual report. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.

The post is for an initial period of 4 years, starting at the beginning of academic year 2020-2021.
