The University of Derby Online Learning is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for its University Diploma in Counselling Studies and Skills. This appointment is for a period of four years from September 2016.
This innovative programme is delivered fully online, with students located globally. The UD Counselling Studies and Skills is an entry programme for those interested in counselling.
We see External Examiners as a key element of quality assurance and enhancement. The principal responsibilities our External Examiners include providing informative comment and recommendations upon whether or not the University is maintaining academic standards, comparing student performance with that of students on similar types of programme at UK Higher Education Institutions and assisting in ensuring the assessment process measures student achievement rigorously and fairly against the intended outcomes of the programme.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff with experience of managing and assessing students on similar programmes. The successful candidate will also have registration with an appropriate professional body for counselling and/or psychotherapy. External examiner experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
If you are interested in contributing as an External Examiner please send a CV listing relevant experience and qualifications to Yasu Kotera, Academic Lead for Counselling and Psychotherapy at Y.Kotera@derby.ac.uk.
