An External Examiner is required for the BSc (Hons) Health Studies at Plymouth University. The programme is based within the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences and is a CPD programme for health and social care undergraduates. The programme offers a range of ‘step-on’, ‘step-off’ modules; of which 80 are delivered in partnership with our local NHS Trusts. This position require the External Examiner to have appropriate experience, a mental health background and a degree of flexibility as modules can come and go within the programme, in order to be able to review a variety of clinical and core modules that may be delivered at different times of the year.
As there are developments and changes within the Faculty, this appointment will be for 4 years from November 2015 but may be subject to review. The commitment required is as follows:
- Two assessment panels a year (usually June & November) and the submission of external examiner reports
- To review a range of coursework throughout the year
- To meet module teams and students as appropriate
- To engage in communication with the programme team
