Salary Range:

The University of Bedfordshire, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint an NMC registered external examiner for the Postgraduate Children and Young People programme and its apprenticeship equivalent.

This is a full-time course which extends over a period of two academic years. It adopts a work-integrated approach to learning which facilitates the application of theoretical learning within the workplace. Students and/or apprentices attend university one day a week and engage in work-based learning activities in a healthcare practice setting for the remainder of the time.

Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure.

You will be asked to attend approximately 3 academic boards per year. You could also be invited to observe practical assessments (such as group and individual presentations) and visit students and/or apprentices within their practice areas.

The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from October 2020.

Please note that all External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University’s External Examiner Committee, and its usual that the university will not accept colleagues who have recently left the university to work elsewhere or have been externals for the university in the past.

For expressions of interest please send a current CV by Friday 2 October 2020 to:
