The Division of Midwifery, Neonatal and Sexual Health, in the School of Health, UCLan is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the programmes within a new post- qualification framework for midwives. This is currently being developed in collaboration with midwives and Heads of Midwifery in local NHS Trusts.
External Examiners are expected to oversee the quality of modules (theory and practice), programmes, attend Exam Boards and visit students at the University.
Applicants will be required to have:
• Current NMC registration as a Midwife.
• Registered Midwifery Lecturer and currently employed within a UK AEI university with no formal links with the UCLan in the last five years.
• Evidence of internal examining experience.
• Previous external examining experience is desirable but not essential.
All new examiners to the University will be expected to attend an induction event for external examiners. Tenure of appointment is four years.
