Oxford Brookes University Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is inviting applications from interested candidates who hold NMC Registered Adult Nurse status and are currently teaching on a pre-registration adult nursing programme. Our NMC Test of Competence (ToC) Centre at Oxford Brookes University is seeking to appoint an External Examiner to commence from September 2017 for a term of 3 years.
The NMC ToC Centre is located in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at both our Marston Road Campus, Oxford and at John Joliffe Campus, Swindon. The centre opened in January 2017, and we are one of three test centres within the UK. The NMC ToC Centre provides the assessments for candidates wishing to complete part 2 of the NMC’s Test of Competence Part 2 and requires the candidates to participate in Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE). The OSCE assesses candidates against the NMC pre-registration standards at the point of registration.
The External Examiner would be required to contribute to the reviewing of the candidate journey and all assessment processes, thus ensuring the maintenance of quality and standards in the assessment process and fair and equitable treatment of candidates.
