The School of Health and Social Work is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the MSc Social Work (Step up to Social Work) Programme. The programme is a pathway on our Masters programme and is a full-time, fast track route to qualification as a social worker. You will be working alongside a team of three External Examiners who hold responsibility for modules within our BSc and wider MSc provision.

We are seeking an Examiner, experienced in delivering social work education, who can work with us to continue to develop and enhance the quality of our teaching and learning within our Programme.

The University of Hertfordshire holds an induction event for all new External Examiners to support your transition into the role and knowledge of our regulations.

We would like to appoint to the role from September 2019. The appointment will be for three years.

You will be required as part of your role:

  • To advise of assessments and module documentation.
  • To review and report on coursework and examination scripts as appropriate.
  • To attend Examination Boards.
  • To submit the annual External Examiner’s Report at the end of the year.
