The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint experienced and suitably qualified academics to act as External Examiners for the Pre-registration Adult Nursing programmes, The School of Nursing has a long tradition of delivering pre-registration nursing programmes, successfully validating and delivering a programme in line with the NMC Standards for Education, since September 2019. The programme delivery includes both full-time direct entry students and apprentice learners.
The successful applicant must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and have relevant experience of working in adult nursing practice settings as well as teaching on a pre-registration nursing programme. S/he will work with our existing External Examiners to review a number of modules within the pre-registration adult nursing programmes (MSc, BSc and Degree Nurse Apprenticeship). This will include modules delivered at levels 5, 6 and 7, with some of the modules being shared between fields. An induction is provided that the appointee will be expected to attend, and ideally, the external examiner will have had experience of external examining.
The External Examiner will be expected to attend the programme assessment board, consider student work and contribute to the overall assessment process.
