The Department of Health Studies at University Campus Suffolk is seeking to appoint an External Examiner to our DipHe Operating Department Practice Course. This is an established course with an average cohort size of 8 students per year. Assessment Board dates are available in advance, with 2 main assessment boards per year.
External Examiners are expected to oversee the quality of modules (theory and practice), programmes, attend Assessment Boards and meet with students on the programme. The majority of theoretical assessment is conducted on-line. You will be expected to produce a module report for each module reviewed and complete an annual report that contributes to the Risk-based Monitoring and Enhancement process.
Applicants will be required to have:
• Current HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner.
• Current employment within a UK university with no formal links with UCS in the last five years.
• Evidence of internal examining experience.
• Previous external examining experience is desirable, but not essential.
All new examiners to the University will be expected to attend an induction event for External Examiners. Tenure of appointment is usually four years.
Interested individuals are welcome to contact Stan Swanepoel, Course Leader, at S.Swanepoel@UCS.AC.UK or telephone 01473 338105 for further information.
Please submit your written expression of interest and full CV to Dr Jane Day, Head of Department, Health Studies (email@example.com ). Closing date 11 December 2015
