The Department of Health Studies at University of Suffolk is seeking to appoint an External Examiner to our Public Health Course. This is an established course with an average cohort size of 10 students per year. Assessment Board dates are available in advance, with 2 main assessment boards per year.
External Examiners are expected to oversee the quality of modules, attend Assessment Boards and meet with students on the programme. All assessment is conducted on-line. You will be expected to produce a module report for each module reviewed and complete an annual report that contributes to the Risk-based Monitoring and Enhancement process.
Applicants will be required to have:
- Relevant academic expertise and experience in public health.
- A master’s degree in public health or related PhD.
- Current employment within a UK university with no formal links with the University in the last five years.
All new examiners to the University will be expected to attend an induction event for External Examiners. Tenure of appointment is usually four years.
