The BSc (Hons) Health Sciences is a top-up degree programme for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals that can be undertaken on a full or part time basis. Apart from the three mandatory modules there are a wide range of optional modules offered to allow students to achieve a relevant degree pathway to suit their area of practice and professional. We are seeking External Examiner for the next academic year for several modules with the Health Sciences Programme. These are:
HESC3001 & 2 – Independent Study (mandatory)
HESC3003 – Philosophy of Health (mandatory)
HESC3004 – Research Methods (mandatory)
HESC3007 – Law for Health and Social Care (optional)
HESC3008 – Leading for Enhanced Service Delivery (optional)
HESC3009 – Negotiated Learning (optional)
The University of Worcester offers support for external examiners and a full induction day. Further support is also provided by the Programme leader and module team. The University normally expects external examiners to attend a minimum of one examination board per year.
Applicants are advised that the University applies the following criteria to external examiners:
- The area of expertise of external examiners is within the area of assessment undertaken;
- Applicants should have recently been employed (or are still employed) within a university appointment;
- He/she must not have been a University of Worcester examiner within the last five years;
- He/she will have a recognised Healthcare qualification, either a Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registered or Allied Health Professions will be considered, (Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered).
