The BSc (Hons) Health Care Studies (Nursing) is delivered through blended learning in Hong Kong for nurses wishing to gain an undergraduate degree. There are 3 intakes per academic year (September, January and May) with 40-50 students per intake and there are currently approximately 200 students on the programme. Students undertake a variety of modules (all at Level 6), which include Critical Appraisal of Research, Principles of Infection Prevention and Control, Facilitating Workplace Learning, Quality and Clinical Governance, Clinical and Professional Leadership, Health Promotion and a Dissertation (an in-depth Literature Review).
Requirements: The external examiner must be a registered nurse and they should have experience of internal (and preferably external) marking and moderation of work at Honours degree (Level 6).
External Examiners are responsible for external moderation of assessments, attending Subject Exam Boards (in the United Kingdom) and complete an annual monitoring report. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and the development of new modules within their area of expertise. The appointment will be with effect from September 2014 and will be for a period of 4 years.
