Buckinghamshire New University is seeking a new external examiner to replace one at the end of her appointment for our Diploma of Higher Education in Humanistic Gestalt Counselling programme. The course is delivered by one of our collaborative partners, Eastleigh College.
This is a two-year programme covering the theory and skills of counselling from a Humanistic perspective with an emphasis upon a Gestalt approach, at undergraduate level. There are 6 level 4 modules in year 1 (20 credits each) and 5 modules in year 2. Additionally, students are exposed to a range of professional issues and other theoretical approaches in order that they can begin to develop a critical, reflective appreciation of Gestalt and Humanistic counselling and practice. The programme maps the theory, skills and personal and professional elements from the BACP programme curriculum to enable students to work towards the BACP programme accreditation, laying the foundation in Level 4 and consolidating at Level 5.
