The School of Health Sciences at City, University of London is seeking applications for the role of external examiner for modules contributing to the BSc/PGDip/MSc Public Health (District Nursing, Health Visiting and School Nursing) programme.

Current NMC registration (adult), Specialist Practitioner Qualification (District Nursing) and non-medical prescribing qualification (either V100, V150 or V300) are essential. The successful candidate will work alongside the specialist community public health nurse external examiner and take responsibility for monitoring the quality of the coursework across various 15 credit modules including the community practitioner nurse prescribing module. They will also be required to consider any district nursing coursework submitted for the 60 credit master’s dissertation module.

The successful candidate will be required to attend at least one assessment board a year and complete an annual report. They are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of programme content in their area of expertise.

The post is for an initial period of three years, starting in September 2019. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we will also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure.
