The Counselling and Psychotherapy Postgraduate Programmes at the University of Edinburgh are seeking a new External Examiner. The programmes include a range of qualifications, both academic and professional, including Pg Certificate, Pg Diploma, Masters and Professional Doctorate. Students are local and international and the student cohort is around 300 in total. The programme orientation is a dialogue between the person-centred approach and psychodynamic perspectives and ideally External Examiners should have a specialist interest in one of these orientations and a commitment to dialogue across orientations. There are two External Examiners. External examining involves sampling work across the range of courses (modules) and contributing to the Examination Boards, which take place in October, February and July each year. Contribution may include attendance in person or via telephone or video-link. The fee paid depends on the number of courses examined across the year, the course credits and class numbers. It amounts to approximately £1000 per year.
