We are seeking to appoint an External Examiner for our Health & Wellbeing, Programme based in the School of Nursing.

This programme requires students to address expectations of national and local directives aimed at improving the standards of health and social care in partnership with key stakeholders such as service providers and commissioners. It responds to the ever changing healthcare requirements of the twenty-first century by developing highly knowledgeable and skilled postgraduates from the health and social care professions, including nurses and midwives.

This position requires the external examiner to be a registered nurse or registered health care professional. The appointment will be from September 2021 for four years and the commitment required is as follows:

  • To review a range of coursework throughout the academic year.
  • To attend one board of examiners meeting for the programme each year and submit an annual external examiner report.
  • To engage in communication with the programme team when required.
  • To carry out at least one virtual or face to face meeting with students.

Previous external examining experience is desirable. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the university’s criteria for appointment. Fees and expenses are payable in line with the university policy.
