The University of Bedfordshire, School of Healthcare Practice is seeking to appoint two external examiners to the above course.
This is a full-time course which extends over a period of three academic years. It adopts a work-integrated approach to learning which facilitates the application of theoretical learning within the workplace. Periods of theory based learning alternate with periods of practice based learning at various local NHS Trust and Private Health Sector Providers. The course currently runs twice yearly with approximately 90 students in the March intake and 140 students in the September intake.
We are keen to recruit someone who has either expertise in work-based learning or experience of delivering such a course. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure.
You will be asked to attend approximately 3 academic boards per year. You will also be invited to observe practical assessments (such as OSCEs) and visit students within practice areas. The specific remit includes review of units at academic levels 4, 5 and 6 contributing to the above award
The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years.
