The School of Psychology at the University of Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Subject External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) Psychology programme, a BPS accredited full time 3-year undergraduate course.
The appointment will commence 1st August 2020 with a term of four academic years. The commitment required is as follows:
- Reviewing a range of coursework and examination materials throughout the year. These duties are shared between two external examiners.
- Attending an assessment panel held each year in June and submission of an annual external examiner report.
- Engaging in communication with the programme team.
- Carrying out one interim engagement per year (which may take the form of a ‘virtual’ visit by video conference/Skype in recognition of the logistical difficulties presented by Plymouth’s geographical location) and at least one face to face visit during the term of office to obtain feedback from staff and students on assessment in practice.
Essential Criteria: currently working in a UK institution of higher education and extensive experience in the field of study.
Desirable Criteria: previous experience as an external examiner.
