The University of Bedfordshire, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint an external examiner to the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course. This is a brand new programme which has been developed with inter-professional working at its heart, enabling students to study alongside their Occupational Therapy colleagues. Other fundamental elements of the course include evidence based learning and reflective practice.

This 3 year, full-time programme will run yearly with an anticipated first cohort of between 15-20 students. The curriculum follows a spiral learning approach providing students with opportunities to develop a critical stance in their learning and clinical practice.

We are keen to recruit someone who has experience of delivering a pre-registration Physiotherapy course. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure. You will be asked to attend 2-3 academic boards per year. You will also be invited to observe practical assessments and visit students within practice areas. The specific remit includes review of units at academic levels 4, 5 and 6 contributing to the above award.

The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2019. For expressions of interest please send a current CV by 25th May 2019 to: clare.jenner@beds.ac.uk
