The University of Huddersfield is seeking to appoint a Subject External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) Nursing, Child course. This programme is based within the School of Human and Health Sciences.

We would welcome applications from suitably qualified and experienced nurse academics working in higher education who have relevant field related experience, teaching, learning and assessment experience and academic qualifications to post graduate level, including a recordable teaching qualification. The position does require the external examiner to have a current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council for Child Nursing.

The successful applicant will work alongside other external examiners from all four fields of nursing practice, to review a number of modules within the pre-registration nursing programmes. This will include modules delivered at levels 5-6 (BSc) including some cross-field modules.

Experience of external examining is desired, but first-time applicants will be considered. An induction programme is provided for External Examiners.

External examiners will be required to contribute to the assessment process, moderate and report on student work, visit practice placements, attend Course Assessment Boards and submit an annual report. All appointments are for a period of four years.
