We are looking to expand our team of external examiners and would welcome applications from suitably qualified and experienced nurse academics working in higher education who have relevant teaching, learning and assessment experience, and who are registered with the NMC.
Registration as a mental health nurse and significant experience of working in this field (in practice or education) are required for the role
The successful applicant will work alongside other external examiners from all four fields of nursing practice, to review a number of modules within the pre-registration nursing programmes. This will include modules delivered at levels 5-6 (BSc) including some cross-field modules.
Experience of external examining is desired, but first-time applicants will be considered and there is an online package of training available as well as live induction programmes (when social distancing restrictions are lifted).
The External Examiner will be expected to attend the Course Assessment Boards (using online networking platforms or in person); consider student work and contribute to the overall assessment process for both theory and practice modules.
The appointment will be from December 2020 (or earlier if possible) and will be for a period of 4 years.
If you would like further information please contact the course lead below. Whether experienced or new to the external examiner role, we welcome your application. To apply, please submit your
