Leeds Beckett University is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing. This is a validated pre-registration course and on successful completion students are eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
The external examiner will be expected to work across both adult nursing and mental health nursing fields of practice as the course is largely integrated, in conjunction with the existing external examiner team. Field specific modules will be allocated to externals who have the relevant experience. The external examiners will also be expected to visit practice placements as required. No previous experience of external examining is not necessary as the University is able to provide mentorship to the successful applicant.
Applicants must be registered with the NMC as a Mental Health Nurse, with a practice/clinical focus and a strong academic background.
The appointment will commence on 01 November 2017 and the tenure is for a period of four years. All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University. External Examiners will be expected to attend Board of Examiners meetings at least once a year and submit an annual report.
