The Department of Allied Health Professions, Midwifery and Social Work, within the School of Health and Social Work at the University of Hertfordshire is seeking to appoint two dedicated individuals to undertake the role as External Examiners for our BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging programme.

We are a large programme with an annual intake of 130+ students from all over the country and abroad. In addition, we are the Home programme to a successful franchise delivered at Parkway College, Singapore.

The External Examiner responsibilities within our programme include external moderation of assessments, completion of an annual monitoring report and attendance at examination boards. Currently there are four examination boards per year. The University uses the Canvas platform as our intranet and assessment moderation takes place via this online system. External Examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.

One of the appointments will also have responsibilities for providing External Examiner support for the franchise programme. This will be an additional appointment involving our international office.

Applicants should hold appropriate academic qualifications, including a degree and higher qualification, and professional registration. It is preferable to have previous experience of external examining although support and guidance can be provided for those new to this role.
The appointment will be from 1st October 2021 and will be for a period of four years. You will be required to attend an Induction session at the University.
