The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic to act as External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) and Post Grad Dip Community Specialist Practitioner Programme (CSP) General Practice Nursing programme starting in September 2019.

The current CSP Programme was first validated in 1996 and recruitment to the programme has been a healthy one in past years but recently numbers have diminished due to funding and limited mentor placements. However, we are hoping for a renewed interest and we have two potential students for Sept 2019

The course runs for 42 weeks and the students have the option of undertaking the programme on a full or part time basis.

The successful applicant will be asked to support a number of other modules linked to the course:

  • Fundamentals of General Practice Nursing
  • Management of Same Day Consultation
  • Management of Long Term Conditions
  • Concepts of Community Practice
  • Management of Asthma and COPD

The External Examiner is expected to attend programme board meeting, consider student work and contribute to the overall assessment process. He/she will work with our existing External Examiners within the CSP Programme. .

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced academic staff. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment.

The appointment will be with effect from September 2019 and will be for a period of 4 years.
