The School of Nursing is seeking a qualified nurse educator to undertake the role of External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing (Apprenticeship) programme, starting in September 2021.
The School of Nursing is part of the Faculty of Health Social Care and Education, Kingston University and St George’s University London and the Adult Nursing programme is run at the Kingston Hill Campus.

An experienced external examiner is required, who has experience of delivering apprenticeships. Applicants must hold current NMC registration as an adult nurse and hold a relevant teaching qualification. Ideally, they should have an understanding of the occupational standard for the registered nurse degree apprenticeship (RNDA) and the requirements of the Integrated End-Point Assessment for the RNDA.

The School of Nursing operates an on-line submission, marking and feedback of assignments therefore experience of Turnitin, Canvas and Speed Grader would be desirable however training can be provided. The post requires external moderation of assessments, completion of an annual monitoring report and attendance at the relevant Boards of Examiners. You will also be expected to visit practice areas once per year. The External Examiner is required to submit an annual report, following which payment is made. The appointment will be for a full 4-year term. Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee and an induction day will be offered – to be held at the University or online following appointment.
