The Department of Nursing and Community Health is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the following programme:
- BSc / BSc (Hons) Professional Studies in Nursing – one examiner.
This is a post-qualification programme that offers a variety of routes on part-time and full-time bases. Practitioners may enter the programme at SQA level 9 or 10 and the programme is open to UK and international qualified nurses from all backgrounds, specialities and areas of practice.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff that will have experience of managing and assessing students on similar programmes. Experience of external examining would be an advantage, but is not essential. As an External Examiner you will be responsible for the external moderation of a range of modules from all nursing fields as well as work-based learning themes; and will be invited to review a selection of scripts and comment on assessment content. You would be expected to attend two Assessment Boards and submit a written report each year.
The period of tenure is for four years and will commence in September 2016.
All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University. The University offers support for newly appointed external assessors.
